Even in 2021, sharing files from android to android is sometime tricky. Although, there are plenty of apps to transfer files from one phone to another, but same app has to be installed on both phone to proceed farther. Furthermore, everyone use different apps and some people even don't has sharing app in their mobile.

To resolve this issue, google has launched nearby share, an universal platform to share any files, photos from one android to another in few seconds. These feature is available in every single android phone above android 8 and don't need to install any app for file transfer.

Here I will tell you how can you transfer files from one phone to another phone without installing any app just in few seconds.

How to send files via Nearby Share

Step 1. To share files with your friend, you need to select file (photo, video, MP3, text, etc.) and click share button. Even you can share multiple files at a time. Here I am sending a photo for demonstration.

Step 2. Select nearby share iconfrom below options and apps.

Step 3. Allow wifi, bluetooth and location access to find receiver phone. Then it will show below interface and tell you friend to open nearby share in his/her mobile to receive file.

Step 4. Wait for few seconds and select your friends phone for sending to him.

How to receive files on Nearby Share

Method 1.

In order to receive files via Nearby Share, using 1st method, follow below instructions and images.

Step 1. Swipe down from the top of your screen and find nearby share option over there.

Step 2. Click nearby share option and allow to access wifi, bluetooth and location to find sender mobile. In case, option is not visible, follow next method. If you find that option on quick settings menu, follow next steps mentioned below.

Step 3. Accept sender's invitation and wait few seconds to complete file transfer.

Method 2

Step 1. If option is noht visible to you, click edit button in quick settings menu ( swipe down from the top of your screen ) and find out there.

Step 2. Next drag and drop nearby share option to above space and click done.

Step 3. Next is same steps as method 1 so follow method 1 from step 2.

Method 3

Step 1. Navigate to settings app of your phone and follow the instructions as mentioned in the below image and follow those steps written below.

Step 2. Scroll down and click on "Google", even you can search on search bar.

Step 3. Click on "Device and sharing/Device connections" remember both are same with different name in different phones.

Step 4. Next click on "Nearby Share" option and turn on nearby share.

Steps 5. Turn on nearby share and allow wifi, bluetooth and location.

Step 6. Wait for sender's invitation and accept that to proceed file transfer process.

• Can I share apps using nearby share?

Ans: Yes. You can share apps with nearby share by either using PlayStore or you can send apk file. To do that, go to play store > click on profile > click on my apps and games > click on share.

• How much time takes to transfer files with nearby share?

Ans: It is depends on size of file and WiFi and bluetooth version. But, usually it is faster than any other apps.

• Do you need internet for file transfer with nearby share?

Ans: Internet connection is not mandatory for file transfer with nearby share. There are options in the settings where you can choose either using internet, wifi only or without internet file transfer.
