Most of the smartphone brands are often launching smartphone once in four month in different prices. So, lot more confusions arises among the people. Commonly, in such huge market people buy wrong phone and the suffer for a long time. So, hear we will discuss about what to consider before buying an android mobile or smartphone buying guide.
Points you should consider before buying a smartphone.
1. Purpose/Use
2. Operating system/UI
3. Processor (SoC)
4. RAM & Storage
5. Camera
6. Battery
7. Display
8. Build quality
9. Right time to buy a smartphone
1. Purpose/Use
Companies targets different smartphone for different users. So, you should have a clear idea about what you will do with your smartphone. Some smartphones are for specially gaming whereas others are for photography or multimedia entertainment. So, decide what you are looking for.
2. Operating system/UI
Hear I am considering you are looking for an android phone so if you want to buy an android mobile then you should check UI or skins on operating system, and android version operating on that phone, future system updates, companies previous records on system updates, bugs and optimization in software. So, in terms of UI, I will suggest you OneUI by samsung. OneUI is very good, they provide system updates in time, limited bugs, long time software updates. Then OxygenOS by OnePlus is also a very good option. OnePlus also provides long time software updates, clean UI with some interesting customisation. Next is Google Pixel, this is one of my favourite because of its clean UI interface and smooth experience, also provides long time software updates. If you like lot more customisation then xiaomi MIUI will be a good choice for you and it is the most famous android skin. But, in flagship segment, I will not recommend you MIUI, because they contain lot more bugs, no system updates in time, not long time software updates, contains lots of ads and bloatware. Similar case with RealmeUI, they are often better than MIUI but, contain lots of bugs, slow system updates, not long time software updates, contain ads and bloatware. So, if you need a clean experience in midrange smartphone or budget mobile then you can consider stock android and motorola smartphones.
3. Processor (SoC)
SoC or processor is the brain of a smartphone. So, processor is one of the most important things that you have to consider. If you are a casual user or moderate user, if you don't so much things then choose a right SoC which can fit in your budget. If you are a serious gamer check performance and GPU of SoC in your budget, check Antutu score and Geekbench score, heating effect, battery efficiency. If you are a smartphone photographer check image processing unit (IPU) of SoC, supported camera resolution, video resolution, fps and supported formats. Or if you want to edit video on smartphones, then check supported display resolution, encoding decoding speed, clock speed, battery efficiency and heating effect of SoC in your budget.
4. RAM and Storage
Select right RAM and Storage as per your use. I will suggest you whatever phone you are buying, that should have atleast 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, otherwise you will suffer in future. Also read how much RAM do you need in your mobile. In case of storage, better to have atleast 64GB storage.
5. Camera
For casual users, a basic camera is enough. But if you are a serious mobile photographer select a camera smartphone which can justify smartphone's price. Commonly budget smartphone and midrange smartphone don't have much good camera for photography, but, you can explore all the available options.
6. Battery
Choose a smartphone which have atleast 6+ hours of screen on time, and check mobile's battery capacity written in mAh. Also check if phone you are planning to buy have decent power saving mode and fast charging. Also reserch on internet about that phone if that have any battery issue or any heating problem.
Also read about effect of fast charging, is overnight charging safe,
7. A good Display
A good display is also important. Select a smay which has atleast Fhd+, 60Hz display. Display quality is very important for intensive games, photographer. So, make sure that you smartphone's display that you are planning for can fulfill your requirements.
8. Build quality
Most of the people don't care about build quality of a smartphone. Research on internet about that smartphone, find out if that phone have any hardware issue, I will suggest you to follow JerryRigEverything video on YouTube. Or other smartphone durability test. This are highly recommended.
9. Right time to buy a smartphone
This is what most people skipped. Don't buy a smartphone after launch or first sell. Wait some time or wait for offers. Research on internet about that smartphone, see teardown video, durability test, see long time review ( atleast 2 month), watch camera test, watch gaming test, find out if that phone have any issues, find out if that phone have any glitches or bugs and avoid first impression video. Everything is available on YouTube.
If everything fit into your requirements and budgets the that the best phone for you.
