So, you want to buy a table for work from home or online study of your child and if are confused about whether it is good to purchase this tablet, prefer to check the specifications and review below.
Specifications:
Review
Display
Realme Pad have 10.4 inch WUXGA+ display of 2000px X 1200px resolution which is similar to LCD display, indoor and outdoor visibility is good but, it's bit hard to view in direct sunlight. Things that I don't like is how fast its display picked up fingerprint. It don't have HDR support so you can't enjoy content in HDR but, it does have Widevine L1 certification, Netflix allows you for full-HD playback.
Speaker and sound
Realme Pad have Quad speaker with Dolby Atmos support, two on each side. Sound is pretty loud so that it can fit into a small room and Dolby makes it impressive. You can easily watch content with your family and friends. Realme Pad also have 3.5 mm headphone jack so you can use headphone with it to get personal viewing experience. Its overall sound quality is great which is difficult to find in tablets in its price segment.
Performance and UI experience
Realme Pad is a great tablet under INR 20K but, it don't have fingerprint reader so, you have to depend on face unlock for fast unlock. Its performance is not very impressive as I have seen in mobile with same Mediatek Helio G80 processor, sometime I have noticed some fream drops, UI-lags and gitter-lags although, all other tables under Rs 20K also have more or less same problem. But, this tablet is quite better then other options.
Realme Pad run with RealmeUI for Pad, based on Android 11, which is quite different from regular RealmeUI for smartphones, RealmeUI pad gives experiences like a stock android and the things I most like is it don't have pre-installed bloatware like in regular RealmeUI and it provides clean experience and it is optimised for tablet. But, RealmeUI pad run behind in some of the table specific features like desktop mode and multitasking mode so, I think they will provide this in upcoming updates.
For gaming and multitasking, Realme Pad provides basic performance. You can play basic games on it but, this is not for full-fledged gaming or high-end video editing or heavy multitasking. I have played BGMI on it and it performed good. For multimedia consumption, entertainment and basic use like online classes you can buy 3GB varient but, for little bit gaming and multitasking, I will suggest you to look for 4GB varient to get better experience.
Battery backup and charging
The table has a 7100 mAh battery with 18W charging support, which gives an hour of gaming and several hours of video streaming and it can run upto a day and half day, which is pretty good. With 18W charger with type C port, it tooks almost 3 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent.
Build quality and in-hand feel
This tablet has totally alluminium metal body with a clean and basic design, rounded corners, bazels are thin and it has single strip line on the back which is better than what we have seen Realme branding in the backside of some of the Realme smartphones. Build quality is very good, it is strong enough, slim and thin-stylish body. it is weight only 440 grams so, you will not face any problem to hold it. Overall premium looks and design, inspired from iPad design.
Others
Besides all its performance, 8MP back and 8MP front camera is decent, it can take basic photo, can record full hd video in 30 fps. This is quite different from what we have seen in smartphone. Its camera bump is little bit bigger, so you have to be careful when you will using it on rough surface.
