Things you should know before buying a windows laptop.

Unlike other electronic gadgets different laptops are designed for different purpose and different tasks. Before buying a laptop choose best laptop for you.

Consider this things before buying a laptop.
1. Use and purpose of buying laptop
2. Price
3. Processor
4. RAM
5. Storage
6. Graphics
7. Battery backup
8. Build quality
9. Weight

1. Use and purpose of buying laptop:

If you went to buy an laptop, you have to clear why you are buying and what you will do with that laptop. If you want to use lightly, like run some light task and do some presentation or little office work, watching videos and movies don't want to use much,  then you don't need an expensive laptop above 1 lakh. If you want to use moderately, like little bit video editing, light programming or little bit gaming check laptops specifications. I always suggest you to go for atleast Intel i5 or Ryzen-5 processor. Always check battery backup. Generally, what company claims is the half of battery backup in real scenario. If you want to use heavily and long time in a day, like heavy video editing, hard-core gaming or high-end programming or professional productive work go for good build quality laptop with required specification which can handle your work smoothly. I have an article things you should consider before buying a gaming laptop, you can read that from hear.

2. Price:

Laptops are very much differ according to its price segment. So, your task is also decided price of laptop. Normally, casual users, who want to use lightly and run some normal task or little bit moderate task, don't need to spend much money, laptops under Rs 40k to 50k are enough. Don't spend much more. If you want to use moderately like normal video editing, moderate gaming, graphics designing, animation making and light programming, go for laptop under Rs 50k to 1lakh, you can also go farther according to your needs. And heavy users have no limit. They can just spend according to software they want to run. So that computer can handle task smoothly.

3. Processor:

Processor is the brain of computer. Choose right processor according to software you want to run. Normally, I don't recommend Intel i3 processor but it can handle casual work smoothly. But, I will recommend you to go for atleast Intel i5 or Ryzen-5 processor for runniy casual software like presentation, word, watching videos and movies and other lite tasks. If you want to use moderately, i5 or Ryzen-5 processor are also good but Intel i7 or Ryzen-7 are recommended. To run software like VSDC Free Video Editor, OpenShot, Shotcut for video editing or blender for animation and cartoon designing or just want to play GTA-V like games. If you are a professional user, your laptop specifications depends on software you want to run.

4. RAM

Ram is also one of the essential component of a computer. Processor is not everything, more RAM with good processor gives you first and smooth performance. Always have atleast 8 GB (DDR4) ram if you are a moderate user, 12 GB or 16 GB ram is better depending on task you want to perform.

5. Storage

For casual user, storage is not that much matter, but if you want to spend Rs 45k to 50k, you should have atleast 256 GB SSD. Spending Rs 50k on a hard drive is meaningless. For moderate user, they should have atleast 512 GB m.2 SSD to get fast and smooth performance, less software launching time and fast booting time.

Note: Always have a external storage drive with you as backup. Don't depend on laptop storage. They might be loss if virus infected or other problems occur.

6. Graphics Card

Generally, casual user don't need any dedicated graphics Card but moderate users specially those who want to editing video, gaming, making Animation, graphics designing better to have atleast 2 GB dedicated graphics Card but better integrated graphics can handle that task also but that will quite slow and make pressure on computer. So, better to have atleast 2 GB dedicated graphics Card.

7. Battery backup

People normally don't talk about battery backup. But it is one of the most important. In lower segment and lower midrange what company claims is the half of battery backup in real life. So, it is important to see some reviews and talk to that laptop users. Buy that laptop which gives atleast 5 hours of battery backup in real life, not what claims by company. Check battery quality also. Shorter battery life means shorter laptop life.

8. Build quality

Build quality is also a very much important this which most of the people ignored. Don't run for only good specifications, check battery backup, battery quality and build quality, past performance. Always good spec laptop might not be good it it has poor quality. Talk to users who have bought atleast 6 months or 1 year earlier.

9. Weight

Weight of a laptop is also very important. Bulky and bigger laptop makes problem during journey and difficult to keep in hand for long time. Try to have thin and light laptop if your requirement is fullfill by that.
